The climate in Egypt is subtropical warm and dry. The best time, regarding the weather, to visit Egypt is from October to April when the average temperature is most pleasant. In December and January however it can be very crowded in iconic sights like Abu Simbel, the Pyramids of Giza and the Temples of Luxor.

In the coastal region of the Mediterranean the climate is Mediterranean to subtropical. The best months to these region is from April to October with an average temperature from in the day of 29°C and in the night 21°C. In December and January the average temperature in the day 19°C and in the night 10°C.

The climate of the Red Sea is subtropical. Most of the tourists are for their holidays on the coast of the Red Sea; especially in Hurghada. Also Sharm el Sheikh, El Gouna and Marsa Alam are tourist cities on the Red Sea. The weather is warm the whole year. The best weather for swimming and snorkelling is from April to October with an average temperature in the day of 32°C and 20°C in the evenings.

The currency in Egypt is the Egyptian Pound. In Hurghada also the dollar and the euro are accepted. It is recommended to use Egyptian pounds.

Rainfall in Egypt is not much, like in lower Egypt where most of the pyramids are located. In the coastal region of the Mediterranean rainfall can be on some days in the time from December to February. Cairo generally has less than 1 inch rainfall per year.

The landscape in the south of Egypt contains low mountains and desert. In the north of Egypt are wide valleys near the Nile and desert to the east and west. In the north of Cairo you will find the Nile River Delta. This is fertile land covered with farms.
